YRSEL is the joint musical project of CJ LARSGARDEN and JULIEN LOUVET.

CJ LARSGARDEN is Swedish. Coming from the punk/hardcore scene of the late 1990s, he distinguished himself by his ambient work under the pseudonym ONDO or noise-rock with HAAZ, as well as in a duet with Thomas Denver Johnson in the pop/folk/shoegaze project A PERFECT FRIEND. He is also a member of SLODDER (doom/sludge).

Their first joint album "Requiem for the three Kharites" was published in 2010 by the English label Aurora Borealis, followed by a second concept album about sacrifice.

In 2013, "Abraxas" double-LP was published, focusing on gnosticism and the beginnings of esoteric christianity.

YRSEL has performed occasionally in France and Belgium. They also contributed to the Acoustic Cameras sound annexation project and certain pieces were used to illustrate documentary films for the BBC, Norwegian television and Vice.
